Echoes

The first character in the Chinese word for Echo is 回 (Hui).

It reminded of a room in a room.

As part of the exhibition i left one room dark and empty except one element.

In the center i positioned an elevated screen facing upwards, which was sensitive to sounds and visually displayed them on a horizontal time axis.

Attracted to the single source of light, visitors got closer and found a microphone.

The sounds produced through the microphone were repeated through an FX Module and additionally through the reverb of the empty dark room.

The audience engaged in a playful interaction and the screen got very busy with cascading sound visualizations.
